Basketball Recap: Ariel Misa Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Service

West Anchorage posted their closest win since February 8th on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Service Cougars 65-62. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 51-50 win back in February.

West Anchorage got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ariel Misa out in front who shot 50% from the field on her way to 22 points. Those 22 points gave Misa a new career-high. Aniah Harris was another key player, going 7-for-15 to rack up 16 points.

Service's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sialeia Silva, who posted 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aryanna Watson, who scored 14 points.

West Anchorage is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Service and nudges their season record down to 16-11.

After both having extra time off, West Anchorage and Colony will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court one another at 7:45 p.m. on March 19th. Colony will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something West Anchorage surely won't give up without a fight. Service does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
