Football Recap: Lamar Consolidated Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Lamar Consolidated was riding high fresh off their 44-0 takedown of Cesar E. Chavez last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs fell 32-21 to the Santa Fe Indians on Thursday. The Mustangs lost against the Indians in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 56-6 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Lamar Consolidated lost, don't look at Edgar Garcia. Despite the final result, he threw for 264 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 77 yards and one score. Jordan Waddle was Garcia's top target, picking up 103 receiving yards and one TD.

Santa Fe found their leader in sophomore Tyler Puccetti, who threw for 181 yards and three touchdowns on only eight passes, and also rushed for 102 yards.

Lamar Consolidated's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Santa Fe, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.
