Basketball Recap: Owatonna Takes a Loss

After flying high against Winona last Tuesday, Owatonna came back down to earth. The Owatonna Huskies were beaten by the Mankato East Cougars 72-44 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Owatonna's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Mankato East, the win was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-1.

Coming up, Owatonna will venture away from home to challenge Century at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Century knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Owatonna likes a good challenge. As for Mankato East, they will challenge Faribault at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
