Volleyball Game Preview: Xavier College Prep Gators vs. Millennium Tigers

Xavier College Prep is a perfect 8-0 against Millennium since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Gators will challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Xavier College Prep sitting on three straight victories and Millennium on five.

If Pinnacle wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Xavier College Prep, they should've done a better job of containing Mattea Saunders. The Gators put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday for which the team can thank Saunders, who had 17 digs and seven assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last six games she's played.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-9, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Millennium faced Sunnyslope in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Tigers have posted against the Vikings since November 7, 2018.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 14-10. As for Xavier College Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 23-2.

Everything went Xavier College Prep's way against Millennium when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Xavier College Prep made off with a 3-0 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Tigers' Marianne Garcia, who had 17 digs and three aces.
