Softball Recap: West Caldwell Triumphs

West Caldwell took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Bandys, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors won by a run and slipped past the Trojans 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Trojans back in April, they had to take a 11-1 defeat.

Abby Bowman made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Courtney Hartley, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Daylann Patterson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

West Caldwell's record now sits at 21-3. As for Bandys, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-9.

West Caldwell has already played their next game (against Morehead), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Bandys also has no score uploaded for their next matchup, this one against West Lincoln.
