Basketball Recap: Whale Branch Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hardeeville last Tuesday, Whale Branch came back down to earth. The Whale Branch Warriors lost 69-47 to the Battery Creek Dolphins on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Dolphins: they've now lost three in a row.

Ethan Cox continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Battery Creek, going 8 of 15 on his way to 19 points along with eight steals and seven boards. What's more, Cox also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Micheal Williams was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine boards.

Whale Branch's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Battery Creek, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Whale Branch wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-43 defeat against Bluffton on the 14th. As for Battery Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 80-56 win against Beaufort on the 14th.
