Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Pelion

Pelion had won seven straight home games and Kolton Rogers did his part to make it eight on Friday. The Pelion Panthers managed a 45-39 win over the Ninety Six Wildcats thanks in part to Rogers, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Pelion's points.

Despite the defeat, Ninety Six saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jamarious Dunlap posted 11 points and three steals. Dunlap is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaquarius Dunlap, who had ten points.

Pelion is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Ninety Six, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Pelion Panthers face off against the Saluda Tigers at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Saluda will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Pelion surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ninety Six, they will take on Batesburg-Leesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
