Soccer Recap: Ashbrook Comes Up Short

Ashbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Cherryville Ironmen, falling 3-0. Ashbrook were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cherryville apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Ashbrook's loss dropped their record down to 3-13-1. As for Cherryville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-12-1.

Coming up, Ashbrook will be playing at home against Forestview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ashbrook's defense better be ready for this one: Forestview have averaged an impressive 6.6 goals per game this season. As for Cherryville, they will head out on the road to challenge Bessemer City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cherryville will be up against Bessemer City's rather soft defense (which has allowed 7.78 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
