Football Recap: Claiborne Academy's Undefeated Season over After Nine Games + How To Watch

Claiborne Academy fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Prairie View Academy on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 32-26 to the Spartans. If the Rebels were looking for revenge after losing 57-36 to the Spartans when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Claiborne Academy lost, don't look at Dylan Buckner. Despite the final result, he rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and one TD. Buckner's longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Nate Smith also helped out with an impressive 81 receiving yards.

Hayden Little had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 114 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 148 yards and a pair of TDs for Prairie View Academy. That's the most rushing yards Little has posted since back in August.

Having lost for the first time this season, Claiborne Academy fell to 8-1. As for Prairie View Academy, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Coming up, Claiborne Academy will take on River Oaks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last five games. Prairie View Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
