Recap: Rock Creek Academy Lions vs. West Washington Senators

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Whitefield Academy, the Rock Creek Academy Lions were happy to have found some success on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past West Washington 48-46. This was payback for Rock Creek Academy, who suffered a 62-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Several Senators players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayla Batt, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Batt's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Thompson, who scored ten points along with five assists and four steals.

Rock Creek Academy has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for West Washington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rock Creek Academy will take on Brownstown Central at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for West Washington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crawford County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
