Baseball Recap: Gallup Takes a Loss

If Gallup was feeling good fresh off their 18-3 takedown of Shiprock on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bengals came up short against the Aztec Tigers on Tuesday, falling 12-6. The loss continues a trend for the Bengals in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Keyshawn Boyd made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base. Tristin Garcia was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Gallup's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Aztec, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.

Gallup didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 loss against Bloomfield on the 17th. As for Aztec, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-5 win against Shiprock on the 17th.
