Basketball Recap: Marlboro Central's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Marlboro Central can now relate to. They received a blow on Wednesday as they fell 55-38 to the Saugerties Sawyers. The Dukes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sawyers earlier this season, when they won 47-28.

Jack Parisio continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Saugerties, putting up ten points along with six boards and three steals. Parisio has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Liam Boek was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

With the defeat, Marlboro Central broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points over those games. As for Saugerties, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.

Marlboro Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saugerties, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-43 loss against New Paltz on the 7th.
