Basketball Game Preview: Plaza Heights Christian Academy Lions vs. Clinton Christian Academy Patriots

For the first time this season, Plaza Heights Christian Academy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to face off against the Clinton Christian Academy Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Plaza Heights Christian Academy's defense has only allowed 28.5 points per game this season, so Clinton Christian Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Plaza Heights Christian Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Midway, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lions fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 36-33 on Tuesday. The loss was the Lions' first of the season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Reece Cornine, who posted 14 points and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 26 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Berry, who scored nine points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Clinton Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 46-34 to Center Place on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled against the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Having lost for the first time this season, Plaza Heights Christian Academy fell to 3-1. As for Clinton Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
