Softball Recap: Pinecrest Comes Up Short

After flying high against Cary on Wednesday, Pinecrest came back down to earth. The Patriots lost 12-2 to the Union Pines Vikings on Thursday. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Pinecrest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Hatcher, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Pinecrest's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Union Pines, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-8.

Looking ahead, Pinecrest will face off against Richmond at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a four-game losing streak. Union Pines does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
