Volleyball Recap: Avery Buckley Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat O'fallon

Incarnate Word Academy won the last time they faced O'Fallon and things went their way on Saturday too. The Red Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Panthers.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 25-27, 26-24, 25-22.

Incarnate Word Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Avery Buckley out in front who had 11 digs and two aces. Those 11 digs gave Buckley a new career-high. Kendall Stroer was another key player, getting 11 digs and two assists.

They weren't the only good servers: Incarnate Word Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They are a perfect 5-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Incarnate Word Academy's record now sits at 12-10. As for O'Fallon, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-11.

Incarnate Word Academy has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against St. Francis Borgia on the 6th. As for O'Fallon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Edwardsville on the 7th.
