Prestonwood Christian hasn't had much luck against Parish Episcopal recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 11:00 a.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Prestonwood Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Legacy Christian Academy a 44-0 shutout. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

William Taylor produced another solid performance rushing for 205 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Prestonwood Christian is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Luke Glass, who rushed for 55 yards and two scores.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Parish Episcopal against Concordia Lutheran on Friday as the squad secured a 49-14 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Crusaders are ranked 316th).
Parish Episcopal's win came from a few key players Prestonwood Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Marcus Hanish, who rushed for 131 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, and also picked up 30 receiving yards and one touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Logan Lucero was another key player, throwing for 249 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.5 yards per attempt.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Parish Episcopal was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 206 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 154 rushing yards in nine consecutive matchups.
Prestonwood Christian's record is now 7-4. As for Parish Episcopal, their record now sits at 11-1.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Taylor and Hanish. Taylor just won't slow down this season and has run in 12 touchdowns while averaging 151.1 rushing yards per game. Hanish has been a dominant force too and has run in 18 touchdowns while averaging 123.3 rushing yards per game.
Prestonwood Christian couldn't quite finish off Parish Episcopal when the teams last played back in October and fell 38-35. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
