Softball Recap: East Columbus' Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but East Columbus unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They lost 18-3 to the North Brunswick Scorpions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scorpions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-13 on March 4th.

Skylah Collins and Aleigh Godwin stepped up to the plate in a big way. Collins scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances, while Godwin scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

East Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for North Brunswick, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Columbus will square off against East Bladen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Columbus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.2 runs per game this season. As for North Brunswick, they will take on West Brunswick at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. North Brunswick also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 8.6 runs per game.
