Volleyball Recap: Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Comes Up Short

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy lost against Desert Sunrise last Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Spartans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Hawks. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sophie Ryken paced Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Ryken got some help from Morgan Everton and her 11 assists.

Desert Sunrise got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaeda Dansby out in front who had four digs, two aces, and one block. Dansby is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Liran Mcanelly, who had 14 digs and two assists.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Desert Sunrise, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Deer Valley on the 20th. As for Desert Sunrise, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Yuma Catholic on the 20th.
