Soccer Game Preview: College Park vs. Grand Oaks

The College Park Cavaliers will head out to challenge the Grand Oaks Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

College Park is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Thursday, they were much more limited against Oak Ridge on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the War Eagles. The shutout was out of character for the Cavaliers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in January.

Meanwhile, Grand Oaks' and Cleveland's match on Wednesday was close at halftime, but Grand Oaks turned on the heat in the second half with seven goals. Grand Oaks was the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Cleveland. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Cleveland from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Addison Jones led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

Grand Oaks has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four matches. As for College Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
