Baseball Recap: San Saba Takes a Loss

San Saba started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Goldthwaite. They lost 10-4 to the Eagles on Tuesday. The Armadillos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

San Saba saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Winton Lackey, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Dawson Crawford also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

San Saba has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 1-4-2 record this season. As for Goldthwaite, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. San Saba will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Johnson City at 6:30 p.m. on the 11th. As for Goldthwaite, they will be playing at home against Harper at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
