Soccer Game Preview: Riverwood vs. Midtown

The Riverwood Raiders will head out to challenge the Midtown Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Midtown took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverwood, who comes in off a win.

Riverwood had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the ten-goal drubbing they dealt Woodstock on Tuesday. The Raiders never let the Wolverines get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Riverwood might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins, Midtown's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Roswell who was credited with the win. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Midtown's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Midtown's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Riverwood, their victory bumped their record up to 14-0.

Riverwood couldn't quite get it done against Midtown in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 as they fell 2-0. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
