Football Recap: Greenback Triumphs Behind Punishing Ground Game + How To Watch

Greenback won against Wartburg Central two weeks ago with 48 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Cherokees beat the Oakdale Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 48-7. The Cherokees have beaten the Eagles the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Elliott Lindsey produced another solid performance rushing for 171 yards and four TDs on only 15 carries. Greenback is 3-1 when Lindsey posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Breedlove, who rushed for 75 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Greenback was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 353 rushing yards. They are 4-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

The win got Greenback back to even at 4-4. As for Oakdale, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Greenback will take on Coalfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cherokees will need to watch out since the Yellow Jackets have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven matchups. As for Oakdale, they will challenge Midway at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Green Wave have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
