Baseball Recap: North Forsyth Has No Trouble Against Carver

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Stokes, North Forsyth was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Carver Yellowjackets as the North Forsyth Vikings made off with a 9-3 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Vikings, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kerry Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Aaron Johnston was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Cedric McCormick also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

North Forsyth's win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-2. As for Carver, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Forsyth will venture away from home to take on Oak Ridge Military Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Oak Ridge Military Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.6 runs per game on average), something North Forsyth will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Carver, they will challenge Bishop McGuinness at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
