Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Oak Grove had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Pearl Pirates with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering the Warriors have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Oak Grove got a great performance from Coby Caillet as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Caillet has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, Caleb Pfaff was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrell Roberts, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Oak Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .526 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Oak Grove's record now sits at 15-7. As for Pearl, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Oak Grove will head out to challenge Seminary at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven games. As for Pearl, they will be playing at home against Morton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.26 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
