Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Academy Huskies vs. Ogdensburg Free Academy Blue Devils

The Franklin Academy Huskies are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Ogdensburg Free Academy Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Franklin Academy was handed a 14-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past Gouverneur 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Huskies have posted since April 23, 2024.

Brad Poupore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Carriero, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Camden Fleury was another key player, going 1-for-5 with three RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Ogdensburg Free Academy put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Canton a 1-0 shutout.

Ogdensburg Free Academy's record now sits at 3-0. As for Franklin Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Franklin Academy beat Ogdensburg Free Academy 6-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
