Baseball Recap: Cloverdale Takes a Loss

If Cloverdale was riding high fresh off their 24-1 takedown of Eminence on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Clovers lost 16-5 to the South Vermillion Wildcats on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Clovers in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost nine in a row.

Cloverdale's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for South Vermillion, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-5.

Coming up, Cloverdale will head out on the road to take on North Putnam at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Vermillion, they will be playing at home against Parke Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
