Volleyball Game Preview: St. Petersburg Catholic Barons vs. Northside Christian Mustangs + How To Watch

St. Petersburg Catholic hasn't had much luck against Northside Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Barons will challenge the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. St. Petersburg Catholic will be strutting in after a win while Northside Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, St. Petersburg Catholic turned things around against Countryside on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 3-1. The game was the first time the Barons have beaten the Cougars on their court since September 23, 2015.

St. Petersburg Catholic had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 25-27, 26-24, 25-19, 27-25.

Meanwhile, Northside Christian suffered their biggest loss since September 18th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to IMG Academy Royal.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-13.

Northside Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

St. Petersburg Catholic suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Northside Christian in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Barons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
