Preview: Ridgewood vs. Kennedy

Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Kennedy should expect quite the challenge on Saturday. They will take on Ridgewood at 1:00 PM. Kennedy will be looking to avenge the 6-35 loss they took the last time these two teams played.

Kennedy entered their game against Hackensack last Saturday without any home losses -- but there's a first time for everything. Kennedy were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 25-29 to Hackensack. Kennedy got a solid performance out of senior Evelon Babbs, who passed for 174 yards and 2 touchdowns; unfortunately, it just wasn't enough for the victory. If you haven't heard Babbs's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past three games.

Meanwhile, Ridgewood put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They made easy work of Clifton and carried off a 38-14 win. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Ridgewood had established a 38-7 advantage.

Ridgewood's win lifted them to 4-2 while Kennedy's loss dropped them down to 4-2. In their victory, Ridgewood relied heavily on senior William Cardew, who rushed for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns. Kennedy will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
