Basketball Recap: Greenfield-Central Extends Home Winning Streak to 15

Greenfield-Central extended their home winning streak to 15 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Braylon Mullins. The Greenfield-Central Cougars blew past the Shelbyville Golden Bears 82-60 on Saturday thanks in part to Mullins, who dropped a double-double on 43 points and ten rebounds. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Greenfield-Central's points.

Cooper Robertson was another key player, as he made all 7 shots he took for 14 points and six boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Shelbyville still got an impressive performance from Mar Nicholson, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Damon Badgley, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points.

Greenfield-Central is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.1 points per game. As for Shelbyville, they moved to 13-4 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Greenfield-Central and Shelbyville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Greenfield-Central will square off against Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 132 places (6 vs. 138). Similarly, Shelbyville (ranked 54th) will meet Speedway (ranked 392nd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
