Baseball Recap: Pettisville Blackbirds vs. Holgate Tigers
Pettisville took a eight-run loss the last time they faced off against Holgate, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Blackbirds sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Tigers on Thursday. For the Blackbirds, this counts as revenge for the 9-1 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.
Caden Bishop spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Creighton Aeschliman was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Ripke, who earned two runs and one stolen base.
