Baseball Game Preview: Remington Broncos vs. Valley Falls Dragons

The Remington Broncos will take on the Valley Falls Dragons at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Remington sitting on six straight wins and Valley Falls on eight.

Remington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Rossville get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory.

The result came thanks to Eli Claassen's shutout, as he gave up just five hits.

At the plate, Remington saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Koby Smeeton, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Valley Falls posted their closest win since April 21st on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Medicine Lodge 1-0.

Medicine Lodge's batters probably weren't too happy with Trenten VanHoutan, who pitched a no hitter and racked up eight Ks (he gave up two walks). VanHoutan has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Remington's win bumped their record up to 11-8-1. As for Valley Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 23-4.
