Recap: Stephenson Jaguars vs. Luella Lions

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Stephenson Jaguars had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 35-7 victory over the Lions. The win was familiar territory for Stephenson who now have six in a row.

Leading Stephenson to victory were Marte Barton and Tyler Bercy. Barton threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes, while Bercy picked up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Another reason for the win was Stephenson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Luella's QB won't forget Romando Craddock anytime soon given Craddock sacked him three times.

Despite the loss, Luella still got an impressive performance from R L. Ward, who rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown.

Stephenson pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.3 points per game. As for Luella, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Stephenson has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Perry at 7:30 p.m. on November 24th. Perry's defense has only allowed 18.1 points per game this season, so Stephenson's offense will have their work cut out for Stephenson. Luella does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
