Basketball Recap: Gates Chili Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Gates Chili got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They secured a 39-33 W over the Churchville-Chili Saints on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Saints back in December of 2024, they had to take a 41-36 defeat.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cadence Bachmann, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Gaffney, who earned seven points.

Gates Chili's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9. As for Churchville-Chili, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Gates Chili has already played their next game (against Spencerport), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Churchville-Chili didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-39 victory against Honeoye Falls-Lima on the 4th.
