Baseball Game Preview: United South Panthers vs. Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls)

The United South Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. United South's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Uvalde's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

United South gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 8-3 win over United. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Juan P Briseno was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Galvan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Uvalde was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against Floresville, falling 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) have suffered since March 2, 2024.

Uvalde saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Pineda, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Uvalde's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-3-2. As for United South, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
