Softball Game Preview: Liberty Christian Academy Eagles vs. Mansfield Christian Flames

The Liberty Christian Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Mansfield Christian Flames at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Christian Academy will be strutting in after a win while Mansfield Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Liberty Christian Academy made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Shekinah Christian, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Liberty Christian Academy put the hurt on Shekinah Christian with a sharp 15-4 victory on Monday.

Jerynn Miller made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Miller was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Looney, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Meg Evenson was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Mansfield Christian had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 11-1 to Huron last Monday.

Mansfield Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayla Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Liberty Christian Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Mansfield Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Liberty Christian Academy suffered a grim 25-3 defeat to Mansfield Christian in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Liberty Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
