Recap: Olympic Trojans vs. Palisades Pumas

There's no place like home for the Olympic Trojans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Wednesday. They took down Palisades 51-33 on Friday. For Olympic, this counts as revenge for the 44-22 loss Palisades walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Olympic was led to victory by Chai James and Barri Terry. James dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Terry dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. James is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games she's played.

Palisades' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Estelle Macho, who scored nine points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Tynilla Simpkins, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds.

Olympic's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. As for Palisades, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Olympic will face off against Ardrey Kell at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ardrey Kell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Olympic in North Carolina (Ardrey Kell is ranked 40th, while Olympic is ranked 256th). As for Palisades, they will head out on the road to face off against Marvin Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
