Southeast Raleigh lost against Garner back in November of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 28-26. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Southeast Raleigh still got an impressive performance from Tydreke Powell Jr., who threw for 247 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one rushing score. The Bulldogs' leading receiver Tyrus Whyte was Powell Jr.'s top target yet again, picking up 94 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Garner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Christian Ormandy, who rushed for 62 yards and one score, and also threw for 110 yards while completing 73.7% of his passes. That's the most rushing yards Ormandy has posted since back in November of 2024.

Southeast Raleigh's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Garner, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Southeast Raleigh will face off against Fuquay - Varina at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bengals' defense has only allowed 11.5 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Garner, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Smithfield-Selma at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
