De La Salle squares off against Pittsburg in intriguing NCS matchup as Pirates are last section team to best Spartans back in 1991.

The section playoffs are in full swing throughout Northern California, and it's about the time upsets happen.

Menlo-Atherton takes a nine-game winning streak into Mountain View to take on top-ranked Saint Francis in the Central Coast Section, and No. 7 Folsom visits No. 6 Jesuit in a Sac-Joaquin Section rumble.

No. 2 De La Salle prepares for Pittsburg, the last North Coast Section team to hand the Spartans a loss, way back in 1991. Here's hoping for no fog, here, there or anywhere.

This came a week after Saint Francis beat previous NorCal No. 1 Serra 44-21 to win the powerhouse West Catholic Athletic League.
