Softball Preview: Lincoln Northwest Falcons vs. Gretna East Griffins        
        
		
             The Lincoln Northwest Falcons are on the road again  on Tuesday to play the Gretna East Griffins at 5:00  p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many  runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
 Last Saturday, Lincoln Northwest didn't have quite enough to beat Elkhorn and fell  3-2. The Falcons have struggled against the Antlers recently, as their game  on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
  Kynzee McFadden put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   seven  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with a  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Lyrik Harris made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Lincoln Northwest  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with seven  strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're  strikeout total in three consecutive  matchups.
 Meanwhile, Gretna East came up short against Norris on Monday and fell  7-2.
 Gretna East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Maycie Grant, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. The last time  Grant's  batting average was this high was  back in September of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of  Tessa Jensen, who  went 1-for-2 with a  double and  an  RBI.
 Lincoln Northwest's record is now 7-12. As for Gretna East, their record is now 9-9.
 Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging  on Tuesday. Lincoln Northwest hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 0.8  home runs per game. However, it's not like Gretna East struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 0.7. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
 Lincoln Northwest came up short against Gretna East in their previous meeting  on Thursday, falling  11-8. Can Lincoln Northwest avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
