Basketball Game Preview: Westminster Lions vs. Laguna Hills Hawks

Having just played yesterday, the Westminster Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Laguna Hills Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westminster has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 21.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-16, which was the final score in Westminster's tilt against Artesia on Thursday. The matchup marked the Lions' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Laguna Hills strolled past Buena Park with points to spare on Monday, taking the game 84-67.

Westminster better keep an eye on Jackson Burnham. He was instrumental in Laguna Hills' win, putting up 33 points. The contest was Burnham's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Myles Mittelsteadt, who posted 16 points.

Laguna Hills is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points per game. As for Westminster, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.
