Basketball Recap: Chaminade Takes a Loss

Chaminade has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were dealt a 91-47 loss at the hands of the Notre Dame (SO) Knights on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Knights are ranked seventh).

When it comes to explaining why Chaminade lost, don't look at Jonas Thurman. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points. Kamden Edwards was another key player, putting up six points.

Chaminade's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Notre Dame (SO), they pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chaminade will head out to square off against Harvard-Westlake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harvard-Westlake knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 contests -- so hopefully Chaminade likes a good challenge. As for Notre Dame (SO), they will take on Crespi at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
