Volleyball Game Preview: Canton Bulldogs vs. Franklin Panthers

The Canton Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Franklin Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Thursday, Canton made easy work of Stoughton and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Franklin challenged Newton South on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 3-0 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Franklin never let Newton South on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-14, 25-23.

Canton better keep an eye on Olivia Caruso. She was instrumental in Franklin's win, getting seven assists and four digs. Abby Clark also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Canton's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Canton was able to grind out a solid win over Franklin in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
