Basketball Recap: Griffith's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Griffith waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the North Newton Spartans by a score of 40-28. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why North Newton lost, don't look at Piper Ivey. Despite the final result, she posted nine points and five boards. Rylynn Klemz was another key player, putting up six points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Griffith now has a winning record of 4-3. As for North Newton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Griffith wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 37-29 win against Hebron on the 10th. As for North Newton, they have also already played their next matchup, a 58-39 defeat against Watseka on the 9th.
