Softball Preview: Canyon Hills Rattlers vs. Mission Bay Buccaneers

The Canyon Hills Rattlers will challenge the Mission Bay Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Canyon Hills comes in on three and Mission Bay on five.

Canyon Hills is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand San Diego a 13-0 shutout on Thursday. While the Rattlers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Natalye Debus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
