Mundelein is 9-1 against Lake Zurich since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Bears at 4:45 p.m. Mundelein will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Mundelein earned a 10-6 win over Carmel.

Dylan Trahan looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Caden Earing was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 contests. Brandon Marano was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Lake Zurich was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They fell just short of Jacobs by a score of 2-1.

Mundelein's victory bumped their record up to 15-5-2. As for Lake Zurich, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.

Mundelein beat Lake Zurich 12-8 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
