Soccer Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dr. Maya Angelou Community Phoenix. If the Democrats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Dr. Maya Angelou Community, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-1-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jefferson will venture away from home to take on Los Angeles at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dr. Maya Angelou Community, they are taking a road trip to square off against Diego Rivera at 4:15 p.m. on February 5th.
