Softball Game Preview: Severna Park Falcons vs. Chopticon Braves

The Severna Park Falcons will head out to face off against the Chopticon Braves at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Severna Park is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since April 17, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Crofton by a score of 2-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Chopticon came tearing into Monday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Patriots as they made off with a 7-1 victory. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 19, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Severna Park has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chopticon, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
