Basketball Game Preview: Mountain View Toros vs. Dobson Mustangs

The Mountain View Toros will face off against the Dobson Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Saturday, Mountain View was able to grind out a solid win over Cibola, taking the game 56-48.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Dobson on Friday. They strolled past Sunnyside with points to spare, taking the game 61-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Mountain View is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Dobson, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

Mountain View came up short against Dobson in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 55-50. Thankfully for Mountain View, Donovan Beard (who went 8 of 20 en route to 20 points along with five assists and three steals) won't be suiting up this time.
