Volleyball Recap: Seton Catholic Cougars vs. Montesano Bulldogs

After flying high against Fort Vancouver last Thursday, Seton Catholic came back down to earth. The Seton Catholic Cougars fell just short of the Montesano Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Seton Catholic actually scored more points across those five sets (100-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 20-25, 14-25, 25-20, 15-9.

Even though they lost, Seton Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in four consecutive games.

Seton Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Montesano, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Seton Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Tenino on the 6th. Montesano has also already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Stevenson on the 6th.
