Volleyball Recap: Piedmont Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Piedmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Anson Bearcats, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-13, 25-18.

Peyton Coan paced Piedmont's offense, picking up nine kills. Coan got some help from Ella Talley and her seven assists. Talley was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Anson was led to victory by Hannah Austin and Sophia Yang. Austin had 12 digs and three assists, while Yang had nine digs and three aces. Austin is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last 11 games she's played.

Piedmont's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Anson, their victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-2.

Piedmont has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Charlotte Catholic on the 9th. Anson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
